Action Acton

Action Acton is responsible for regeneration in Acton. It is a partnership of local residents, public agencies, businesses and community groups. Its approach combines economic and community regeneration in a way which reflects the nature of the area and the particular needs of ‘hard-to-reach’ unemployed people.

Action Acton’s area has a very mixed population, with a large number of Somalis and an increasing number of people from the former communist countries of central and eastern Europe. Its project-based approach, with extensive outreach and community development work, enables it to make effective links with people from its many different communities.

Action Acton is now funded primarily through contracts and project funding for specific projects, such as business support services, skills development, employment preparation and job brokerage.
