Ealing Council Leader, Councillor Jason Stacey, has been walking the borough with Chief Executive Darra Singh to ensure that works, which began in July, are up to scratch and on schedule for completion in March.

Councillor Stacey said: “This is the largest amount of money we have spent on improving the borough’s streets in 10 years and I am pleased with the progress made so far. The work I have seen is of a high standard and will make a noticeable difference to road users.

“The roads are being totally resurfaced to improve durability and deliver better value for money. Resurfacing should increase the lifespan of the roads by up to 25 years, as opposed to skimming which only lasts up to 10 years. Footpaths are being replaced with slab paving, instead of traditional tarmac, to make them last longer and improve their appearance.”
