Work is due to begin on the construction of a new multi-million pound leisure centre following the demolition of Northolt Swimarama.
Further demolition at the site began on 15 September and contractor Willmott Dixon will be putting up the hoarding this week in preparation for work to begin on the foundations. Contractors will be on site building the state-of-the-art facility from Monday, 29 September until it opens at the beginning of 2010.
The new centre will include:
Councillor Phil Taylor, Cabinet Member for Customer and
Community Services, said: “This will be a spectacular centre and a
much-needed replacement for Swimarama. Northolt Leisure Centre will
offer so much more and I’m confident that the extensive range of
facilities will attract many more people to come and make full use
of it.”
