Ealing Council has joined forces with two charities to help businesses offer free environmental assessments to food businesses and other organisations across the borough.
The scheme has been devised by Ealing’s Business Environmental Support and Training initiative (BEST), led by Ealing Council to help businesses reduce waste, energy and water consumption, and save money.
The reviews are caried out by environmental charities Global Action Plan and the London Sustainability Exchange. Food businesses as well as small to medium sized companies, not-for-profit organisations and charities are all eligible for a free assessment.
Councillor Sue Emment, Cabinet Member for Environment and Street Services, said: “This free service is a great opportunity to help local businesses, especially during this current economic climate. The assessments are a step towards saving money and boosting profit as well as as improving their environmental credentials.”
