Artists, entertainers and performers are being encouraged to join in the fun at this year’s Acton Town Christmas Fair.
Ealing Council is keen to involve the community in the festive fair, on Saturday, 6 December, and is looking for people to take part in the event that forms part of the town centre improvement programme.
The fair will take place across Acton town centre including Acton Market Square in The Mount, St Mary’s Church in Churchfield Road, Acton High Street and Acton Town Hall from 11am-6pm.
Plans so far include choirs, carol singers, bands and buskers to entertain shoppers while they browse the market stalls. There are also opportunities for local artists and small businesses to get involved either by exhibiting their work or having a stall in the market or the Town Hall.
Councillor David Millican, Cabinet Member for Regeneration and Transport said: “Acton is in line for a £2million package of investment over the next few years and the area will benefit from a number of improvements. The Christmas Fair will attract more people to Acton and it is a great opportunity for residents to take part in a wonderful community project.“
The event will provide entertainment, excitement and an opportunity for shoppers to get started on their Christmas shopping. Market stalls will offer a range of arts, crafts and one-off quirky Christmas gifts as well as more traditional holiday treats. There will be food from various parts of the world to taste as well a range of activities for children and families including face painting and a Santa’s grotto.
