Northolt Library will close for refurbishment as part of a £1.5 million facelift on Saturday, 11 October.
The library, in Church Road, will open again next summer. During the revamp a temporary library will be open in front of the existing building from 21 October.
Almost £1.3million comes from the Big Lottery Fund’s Community Libraries programme, and Ealing Council is also investing £300,000 to turn the library into a modern and accessible centre for the community.
West Ealing Library, in Melbourne Avenue, is also closing for a £630,000 refurbishment on Saturday, 1 November and is due to re-open next summer.
Council Leader, Councillor Jason Stacey, said: “Libraries are valuable community facilities and the improvement works should encourage more people to come and benefit from them. I would like to thank the public for their patience while the work is being done.”
