Opera returns to Ealing Summer Festival with a gripping
performance of The Barber of Seville.
Opera A La Carte, which made its debut with Carmen at last
year’s event, will be staging Rossini's best-known comic opera in
Italian.
The story embraces a decade of cultural conflict against a
backdrop of 1920's decadence.
Councillor Phil Taylor, Cabinet Member for Customer and
Community Services, said: “Opera was a new addition to the
festival programme last year and I’m delighted to be bringing it
back again this year. It was hugely popular with people,
first-timers as well as opera buffs.
“I hope that word will have spread and we will be welcoming plenty of new faces as well as the regular festival-goers. Opera A La Carte is a well established company and their performances add to the variety of the entire summer programme.”
