Ealing Council is launching a summer crackdown on illegal adverts and signs that blight the borough.
The summer blitz starts on Monday, 16 June, when planning enforcement officers will be on the lookout for illegal signs along the A40, between Ealing Golf Course and the Hanger Lane Gyratory.
Officers will carry out inspections to see which hoardings and signs are illegally displayed, and enforcement action will be taken if they do not comply with planning regulations. The signs will be securely removed and the people responsible for putting them up will face prosecution.
Councillor David Millican, Cabinet Member for Regeneration and Transport, said: “We will be cracking down on anyone caught putting these signs up illegally. They are showing total disregard for the borough and its residents by blighting our streets and we will not tolerate it.”
Residents are encouraged to report any new advertising
hoardings. Call 020 8825 6000 and ask to speak to a member of the
planning enforcement team.
