Ealing Central Library is opening its doors to the public for the first time since undergoing a £2million transformation.
This bright and spacious community facility will be unveiled on Tuesday, 29 July, when users can catch a first glimpse of the impressive refurbishment.
New comfortable furniture, attractive wall decorations and improved lighting are set to make the library more user-friendly and enjoyable to use. There are also 20,000 new books and 85 public computers with free internet access to enjoy, as well as a number of other attractions.
To celebrate the opening, there will be children’s activities taking place throughout the day on Tuesday, and there will also be a magician entertaining youngsters in the afternoon.
Councillor Phil Taylor, Cabinet Member for Customer and Community Services, said: “I have had a preview of the new library and it looks great. A lot of thought has gone into it and it has been transformed into a much brighter and more usable facility. I know the staff have worked hard to turn this project around after technical problems delayed it. I’m pleased we can now get our hands on our new library and I would like to thank everyone for their patience while the work was being done.”
