People working with Ealing's children and young people are being invited to an event to ensure they know what to do to protect the youngsters in their care.
Two awareness sessions are being held at the Town Hall on Wednesday, 23 January, to ensure those running services aimed at children know about important changes to national child protection procedures.
At least one person from every private company, voluntary organisation, community or faith group that works with children should attend one of the sessions. Attendees will also receive an updated copy of the Child Protection Policy and Procedure - known as the Yellow Book, which is being launched at the event.
Councillor Ian Gibb, Cabinet Member for Children's Services, said: "We’re committed to ensuring the safety of the borough’s young people, so we’re running these sessions to ensure everyone is aware of the changes to the guidance. It’s essential that people who work with children follow the new code of conduct to make sure young people are safe when they’re in their care."
Sessions are taking place from 12.30 to 2.30pm and 7pm to 9pm and light refreshments will be provided. Call Halima Abouannaoual on 020 8280 2235 as soon as possible to book a place.
