Half-term fun at Council’s sports centres (PR 1165)

Martial arts, swimming and gym training are just some of the fun activities available to youngsters this half-term.

The Council’s sports centres will be packed with activities to help keep children and young people active and healthy during the holiday from 18-22 February.

There will be free swimming for under 16s from 2-4pm during the half-term break at Dormers Wells and Gurnell leisure centres, and Acton Swimming Baths. A female-only water aerobics class, Aqua Teen, is also launching at Gurnell Leisure Centre for 13-19 year olds.

Councillor Nigel Sumner, Cabinet Member for Health and Community Well Being, said: “There are so many activities taking place across the borough that there’s no chance for young people to be bored this holiday, and some of the events are even free. It’s important to encourage healthy living, particularly among youngsters and this is a good way to start.”
