Free classes at Acton sports centres (PR 1085)

Fitness fanatics can enjoy two-weeks of free classes from Monday, 29 October, as part of a special offer to promote and encourage healthy living across the borough.

Adult classes including Tai Chi, kickboxing and circuit training are available for beginners and improvers at both the newly revamped Reynolds Sports Centre in Gunnersbury Lane and Twyford Sports Centre in Twyford Crescent.

Reynolds Sports Centre, run by Active Ealing on behalf of Ealing Council, re-opened its doors this summer after extensive work was carried out as part of a PFI project to rebuild Acton High School. It boasts a large gym, sports hall and dance studio. Classes are free until November 10.

Councillor Nigel Sumner, Cabinet Member for Health and Community Well Being, said: “The unique thing about these sports centres is that they offer a pay-as-you-go membership option, which saves people having to worry about being tied to a contract. The new gym at the Reynolds Sports Centre looks great, it would be worth people having a look when they go along to enjoy the free classes.”
