People in Ealing are being given the chance to tell the council
what should be done to improve safety at the borough’s train and
tube stations.
Residents and those who regularly travel through the area on
mainline and underground services are being asked whether they feel
worried about becoming a victim of crime. People are being
invited to tell the council about their experiences and whether
anything could be done to make them feel safer.
Chair of the Panel, Councillor Anthony Young, said: "We know
that thousands of people use the borough’s public transport
services everyday and we want to make sure they’re as safe as
possible. We need to hear from people to findout what worries
them and what they think could be done to make train and tube
stations safer. It may well be there are simple things that
could be done to improve the environment and cut crime."
The views and suggestions will be collated and discussed by
councillors at the Council, Business and Community Partnership
Scrutiny Panel on Thursday, 18 October. Anyone with any
comments or suggestions should email Harjeet Bains at
bainsh@ealing.gov.uk and
members of the public are welcome to come along to the meeting at
7pm in Committee Room 3 at Ealing Town Hall.
