Residents are invited to a public exhibition to find out more about Ealing Council’s plans to improve safety for road users and pedestrians in Acton High Street.
The exhibition will be held at Acton Library on Friday, 9 November from 11am to 4.30pm, and on Saturday, 10 November from 10am to 3pm. Plans for the scheme will be on show and staff will be available to answer questions.
A public consultation is underway and the Council has already sent a questionnaire to more than 4,000 residents asking them to share their views before November 19.
The plans are part of the Council’s commitment to making communities safer and have been designed to reduce the risk of accidents. The main elements of the safety scheme include:
· a 20 mph zone along part of Acton High Street
· improvements around the railway bridge
· synchronization of traffic lights to improve traffic
flow
Councillor Vlod Barchuk, Cabinet Member for Transport, said: “I would encourage people to respond if they haven’t done so already. It’s important for residents to have their say and the public exhibition is an ideal opportunity for them to find out more about the scheme.”
The outcome of the public consultation will be reported to the
Acton Area Committee, which will make a final decision on the
scheme.
