Scores of excited youngsters explored the new play area brimming with fun-filled equipment in Northolt on Thursday, 22 November.
The playground, in Dolphin Road, was opened as part of the Northala Fields development, which has transformed a disused playing field site into an eye-catching landmark in Northolt and Greenford Countryside Park.
The Mayor, Councillor Mrs Hazel Ware, planted an Oak tree in the park to celebrate the event and thanked the Petts Hill Primary School children for their input into the design of the playground.
Councillor Nigel Sumner, Cabinet Member for Health and Community Well Being, said: "A lot of hard work has gone into the park and it's wonderful to see the local community enjoying it so much. Improving facilities to enable children to have fun and be more active is very important."
An additional play area will open in the New Year and there will be a formal opening of the entire development in the summer.
