Ealing Council teams up with rat expert (PR1112)

In a bid to improve street cleanliness, Ealing Council has called in a rat expert to help residents find out how they can avoid rodent infestations.

The Pest Control Specialist Scrutiny Panel is encouraging people to attend the meeting on Tuesday, 4 December where representatives from Network Rail, London Underground, British Waterways and Thames Water will also be present.

Residents are invited to participate in the meeting and highlight any pest problems to the panel, which will report to the Council’s Cabinet.

Rats are attracted to areas where:

Rubbish is left out and easily accessible
People leave food out for small animals such as birds and hedgehogs
There is an accessible water source - rats are thirsty creatures

The meeting will be in the Town Hall at 7pm and will provide information on rat control and the work being done by all agencies to eradicate the problem.
