Possible disruption during tree felling in Ealing (PR 1095)

Ealing Council is warning motorists of possible disruption tomorrow (2 November) as a result of temporary diversions which are being put in place while a dangerous tree is felled.

The black poplar tree at the end of Mattock Lane is being removed because it is diseased and could easily fall down.  Because of its condition it’s not possible for contractors to climb the tree to remove it and a lorry with a grabbing arm and mobile platform will have to be used, which is likely to cause some disruption.

Work will start around 7am and will last for most of the day.  Some parking bays at the junction of Mattock Lane and Bond Street will be suspended.  There will also be some disruption to traffic.  Motorists travelling south from Ealing Broadway towards the mini roundabout at the junction of Bond Street and Mattock Lane will only be able to go straight on.  Motorists turning from The Green into Mattock Lane will be given priority over traffic coming out of Mattock Lane.

The Council will replant the site to replace the diseased tree.
