Community invited to join in the fun at ‘May in the Park’ (PR 977)

WHAT: 'May in the Park' community fun day
WHEN: Sunday 27 May 2007, 2-6pm
WHERE: Northolt and Greenford Countryside Park on the banks of the Grand Union Canal, where the wooden bridge joins Marnham Fields and Smiths Farm

Summer is on the way and 'May in the Park' is the perfect opportunity to celebrate the return of sunshine and warmer weather.

'May in the Park' is an annual event organised by Ealing Council and the Northolt and Greenford Countryside Park Society and it is an idyllic Sunday afternoon out, with activities for people of all ages.

The banks of the beautiful Grand Union Canal will come alive with a children's treasure hunt, West London Floating Classroom boat trips, orienteering, maypole dancing and music from the Fulham Brass Band.

There will also be guided walks, a chance to try your luck at 'throwing the horseshoe' and a dog show, where you're invited to parade your pooch.

Ealing Canoe Club, St Mary's Church cake stall, Northolt Lions, London Fire Brigade, stalls from local churches, the Women's Institute country market, the Metropolitan Police Safer Neighbourhood Team and a children's bouncy castle will also add to the festivities and attractions available throughout the afternoon.

Last year's 'May in the Park' attracted 500 visitors who enjoyed a great, local day out. For more information about the day, contact the Horsenden Ranger Team on (020) 8903 3945.
