Blues Festival celebrates its 20th birthday (PR 999)

Blues legend Paul Jones joins the party

Ealing Blues Festival
Date: 21 July
Venue: Walpole Park, Ealing
Cost: £1 for adults, children free

One of the biggest Blues gigs in the country turns 20 this year with a storming celebration of world-class and up-and-coming Blues and Roots.

The Ealing Blues Festival, part of Ealing Summer, has been entertaining crowds of up to 10,000 over the past 20 years and has established itself as one of the leading Blues festivals in the country.

Paul Jones, a legend of the British scene, joins the party with slide guitar maestro Dave Kelly.

Councillor Nigel Sumner, Cabinet Member for Health and Community Well Being, said: "The Blues Festival enjoys a massive following having built a reputation for bringing to London the big names of the Blues circuit as well as fresh, up-and-coming talent.
"This year there's even more reason to party as we celebrate the 20th anniversary of the festival. I would like to congratulate local resident Bob Salmons who started the festival and who now works with the Council to ensure that it goes from strength to strength and consistently delivers a great day out."
