Ealing Council helps residents to shape up in the New Year (PR 897)

Ealing Council is helping residents kick start their fitness plans and stick to their New Year’s resolutions to get fit and healthy.

The council’s Active Ealing team is encouraging residents to join the gym and try out fitness classes at a reduced price at the borough’s sports centres.

Residents can take advantage of six-week trial gym memberships at Southall and Elthorne Sports Centres.  Membership includes use of the gym and fitness classes with prices starting at £45 (£34 with a leisure pass). Other deals at sports centres include half price fitness classes at Twyford Sports Centre, half price gym inductions and £1 off fitness classes at Greenford Sports Centre.

Councillor Nigel Sumner, cabinet member for health and community well-being, said: “This is the time of year when everyone makes a number of resolutions and I’m thrilled that our Active Ealing team can help residents achieve their aim to get fit and healthy.

“I encourage anyone wanting to have a change in lifestyle or wanting to take up a new sport or leisure activity to visit one of our sports centres and take advantage of the New Year’s specials.

“Alternatively take some time to flick through the free sport and leisure guide (pdf, large file, 1.51MB) that will be delivered with this month’s Around Ealing. The guide lists all the sports and leisure activities and facilities available to every resident in the borough.”
