Children in Ealing will enjoy a range of new and exciting play services after Ealing Council was awarded a £790,198 Big Lottery Fund grant.
The massive funding boost will be used for 12 new projects at more than 20 locations to provide new play areas, refurbish existing play spaces and new supervised play facilities.
This will address gaps in the current provision not only in relation to play spaces but also play services for those with special needs and disabilities.
Councillor Ian Gibb, deputy leader and cabinet member for children's services, said: "Ealing has one of the highest populations of children of any London borough and also areas of social disadvantage. The Big Lottery Fund's grant of £790,198 towards new and exciting play facilities will have a significant impact on the quality of life of children in our borough.
"I am delighted that we will be improving facilities to enable children to have fun, explore their world, and be more active. This is vital to their health and social development and can only have a positive impact on their integration into wider society."
The areas that will benefit from new or refurbished facilities and services via the 12 projects include:
· Havelock Estate, Southall; Islip Manor Estate, Northolt;
Bashley Road, Acton
· Spencer Street, Southall; Wesley Playing Fields, North
Acton and Islip Manor Park, Northolt
· Log Cabin, Northfields
· Stockdove Way, Perivale
· Northolt Park, Northolt; Dormers Wells, Southall;
Lammas Park, Ealing

· Medlar Farm Estate, Northolt
· Acton Park, Acton
· Oaktree Community Centre, South Acton
