Residents’ refuse and recycling collections will change over the Christmas and New Year period.
The changes affect the period Monday 24 December 2007 to Saturday 5 January 2008. To help the collection schedule return to normal by 7 January 2008, Monday and Tuesday collections will be brought forward in the run-up to Christmas Day.
The changes will be as follows:
| Usual collection day | Revised day |
| Monday 24 December | Saturday 22 December |
| Tuesday 25 December | Monday 24 December |
| Wednesday 26 December | Thursday 27 December |
| Thursday 27 December | Friday 28 December |
| Friday 28 December | Saturday 29 December |
| Monday 31 December | Monday 31 December (as normal) |
| Tuesday 1 January | Wednesday 2 January |
| Wednesday 2 January | Thursday 3 January |
| Thursday 3 January | Friday 4 January |
| Friday 4 January | Saturday 5 January |
Saturday collections will not be affected.
Residents should leave refuse and recycling in clear sight within the front boundary of their property, not on the pavement, by 7am on their allocated collection day. Three ECT vehicles will collect the waste, one for refuse, and two for recycling.
Residents are reminded that they can now recycle plastic in either its own separate green box or plastic bags. Plastic recycling will be collected with garden waste in 14 new split back recycling trucks.
Ensuring refuse and recycling is collected over the holiday period is part of the Council’s cleaner streets priority.
The council’s Re-use and Recycling Centres will be closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day. Normal opening hours (8am–4pm) apply on all other days over the Christmas and New Year period. Please note that the weighbridge closes at 3.30pm.
These centres are located at Stirling Road, Acton, Gordon Road, Southall and Greenford Road, Greenford.
Ealing Council will be open for business between Christmas and New Year, on the 27, 28 and 31 December from 9.00am to 5.00pm. View full details of Council services or call 020 8825 5000 for information.
